BoricuActivatEd conducted its first Philadelphia workshop in 2019 at Asociacion de Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM). Since then, our relationship with APM has flourished, so much so that our Philadelphia-based headquarters is today housed in the organization’s offices.  We are deeply honored that Nilda Ruiz, CEO of APM, is a member of our board, enabling us to benefit from her expertise and talents.

This year, we are launching our adult leadership workshops in conjunction with APM.  Distinct from other community workshops we have conducted, these sessions will be focused on training the leaders of the organization, helping them learn new skills that will enable them to advocate for change at the local, state and federal levels of government. It all goes to show that the lessons of civic engagement and participatory democracy are appropriate for people of all ages and at all stages of their careers.
